40 Regular Portuguese ER Verbs in Simple Present Tense and their Conjugation

In Portuguese language, there are basically four types of verbs. Irregular verbs , and the rest three are regular verbs ending in ar, er and ir. Almost 99 percent of verbs are regular and they end with either ar, er or ir. To conjugate them with the pronouns all regular verbs have their own easy rule. Here we are talking about all the regular verbs ending in ER to conjugate in simple present tense.

For example:

verb VENDER (To sell);

To conjugate them with pronouns first just remove the last ER. Here in this case, if we remove ER, the base is VEND. And, then add 'o' with pronoun Eu (I).

Eu vendo (I sell).
Its simple. Lets see the conjugation rules to all pronouns.

Lets see this with all prononus.

In base verb VENDER if we remove ER , the base to conjugation is VEND .

Eu vendo.   (add o)   I sell.
Tu vendes.   (add es)   You sell. (informal)
Você vende.   (add e)   You sell. (formal)
Ele/Ela vende.   (add e)   He/She sells.
Eles/Elas vendem.   (add em)   They sell.
Nós vendemos   (add emos)   We sell.

In Portuguese Tu or Você both means YOU. Normally in European Portuguese Tu is used more often and in Brasil Você is used more. Basically Tu is informal and Você is a formal way to say YOU.

ER verbs conjugation is little bit tricky in comparison with AR verbs. Some of the ER verbs that ending in CER. For example: CONHECER.

Here while conjugate with EU, we do the same but instead of using CO, we use ÇO.
Eu conheço.
